The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt organized a sports event at the Gezira Youth Center in Cairo, in cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, on the occasion of Qatar’s National Sport Day, in the presence of Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, along with members of the diplomatic mission
The event program included a range of sports activities and competitions with the participation of attendees, as part of the national occasion through which the State of Qatar annually designates a day for sports, observed on the Tuesday of the second week of February
National Sport Day falls within broader national policies aimed at promoting physical activity and reinforcing awareness of its health and societal importance, through programs and initiatives implemented by various institutions within the country, in addition to events organized by its diplomatic missions abroad
