Egypt’s General Intelligence Service chief Hassan Rashad held talks in the coastal city of El Alamein with Libya’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, on developments in Libya and Libyan and international efforts to advance the political process towards stability and presidential and parliamentary elections
Rashad stressed the importance of capitalising on the current political momentum around the proposed initiatives as an opportunity to promote stability and strengthen Libyan unity, amid efforts to overcome political challenges and advance a comprehensive settlement that preserves Libya’s unity and stability
